THANK YOU! This is the final Sunday of the Villebois Market...for this season

It has been a great ride, thank you to everyone for your support, your patronage, your smiling faces on Sunday mornings. As the weather becomes cooler and we all retreat to our warm and cozy habitats remember to continue supporting the "little guys": the local farmer, the creative artist, the small food cart. These are the people that have inspired us. Look into Gardenripe's CSA farm subscriptionfor next season. Try shopping at local shops for the holidays or purchase on Etsy, a site for craftspeople to sell their wares locally and globally, you can even search for Portland, Oregon...we have MANY crafters in our area.
Take a friend to the Lavender Tea House in Sherwood and enjoy some of the pastries we've offered at Caffe Fratelli.
And for coffee....try to buy Organic, Sustainable Coffee. It might not seem like a big deal, but it is to those lands most coffee comes from.

So, on our counter this final week, enjoy mocha brownies and snickerdoodle cookies from DeRoover Bakery.  Santine DeRoover has many wonderful baked goods sprinkled throughout our area you can contact her for locations.
If you're missing our wonderful French Press Coffee from KandF coffee, we sell the beans for $10 per bag. You can always order through us, just reply to this blog.
Finally, a HUGE thank you to Villebois and all the volunteer support as well as the two market managers, Taraneh Foster who started it all and Tracy Baker who is seeing it through this first season.

Until we meet again, ciao from the wise guys and their side kicks...

KINK Live Performs at Villebois...Music and Coffee...what's not to love

First of all, thank you loyal patrons, last week was a record week at the Fratelli Coffee stand. We have two more weekends, this and next for market season so, if you need whole bean coffee, stop by and pick up a bag! We can also take orders! On our counter this week we'll have mocha fudge brownies, almond butter bars, and snickerdoodle cookies from De Roover Bakery. The brownies are decadent; fudgey with a hint of coffee and a chocolate covered espresso bean on top!

Local adult rock radio station, KINK.FM, recently announced plans to kick-off the launch of its latest KINK LIVE 12 CD with a concert open to all Portland-area residents in Villebois’ own Palermo Park in Wilsonville, Oregon, on Sunday, September 27th.

Plus, enjoy the music of our own Michele van Kleef , opening the concert.
The concert will also feature the music of Justin Jude, a musician featured on the KINK Local CD, which the popular local radio station will distribute for free to all spectators at the concert this month.

Until Sunday then, Ciao!

Aaron Meyer Performs this Sunday at the Market....virtually in front of our coffee stand!

So, have you all heard of Aaron Meyer? He's a local musician, a "concert rock violinist," and we are lucky enough to have him at the Sunday Market from 11am - 1pm. He will be performing on our "stage" which is where we (the Belgian Waffle Maker and Caffe Fratelli) fondly refer to as the "Food Court" of the Market. Here's a link for you to enjoy his music and talent!

We'll see you on Sunday at the Caffe Fratelli, while you enjoy his music grab a cup of French Press and a pastry.  On our counter this week we'll be featuring cookies, mocha brownies, and almond butter bars from DeRoover Bakery.

Why buy Organic?

The question has come up; more than once so we thought this entry would be about Organic Coffee. The basics are good responsible coffee should be ORGANIC, FAIRLY TRADED, and SHADE GROWN and BIRD FRIENDLY . When you buy Organic Coffee you are supporting farmers who are committed to maintaining the long-term health of our environment,
supporting family farms and strong communities, and helping preserve biodiversity. Of course Organic also means that the coffee is grown and processed without the use of harsh chemicals, fertilizers, or toxic pesticides.
You are in luck with the coffee we serve at Caffe Fratelli. Our K&F Bella Selva brand is Organic, Fairly Traded, and Shade Grown. The proceeds of our whole bean also give back to the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Foundation.

Ok, enough about educating your mind, now we'd like to tempt your senses. We're thinking Fall so this week we're featuring Almond Butter Bars from De Roover Bakery. They are nutty, buttery yumminess with a shortcake crust. We will also have fabulous chocolate chip cookies, and gooey mixed berry oat bars. Come by and try something with your usual cup of coffee.

Until Sunday then, Ciao!

Ok, so it's not a Ferrari

We just learned that there will be a chance to win a brand new Mini Cooper this Sunday at the Market! Our grandfather, Guerrino Cettina, worked for Fiat in Italy years ago so Italian Cars have always held some importance to these boys. However, in light of the cause, I guess we'll allow the presence of a mini cooper from across the pond.

Come view it, enter your chance to win AND of course sip some Bella Selva Organic Coffee. On our counter this week we will be featuring Almond Butter Bars, Chocolate Chip Cookies,Blueberry Muffins, and a few mixed berry oat bars all from local bakery De Roover Bakery.

Until Sunday then, Ciao!

We keep it a family business

So, the "wise guys" are pullin' another job this Sunday. Not to worry, sister and mama are here to take over and keep you fully fueled at the market this Sunday. We are featuring a special "cold brewed" coffee from K&F 's Bella Selva Organic line. Still shade grown & roasted in small batches. This is the "Guatemalan Estate" which has "bright, lively, sweet tones with a citrus finish." This comes exclusively as an iced coffee. Try with a splash of cream and a mixed berry oat bar from De Roover Bakery....yummmmmm....

Of course we're still serving all the regular lattes, french press, and iced drinks. If you have something you'd like us to do, let us know. We have chocolate for mochas and hot chocolate for the young and young at heart crowd, organic chai for the faint of caffeine crowd.

Pastries will be chocolate chip cookies...a BIG hit with the kids....mixed berry oat bars...a BIG hit with the big kids, and fresh blueberry muffins....a BIG hit with the late saturday night crowd and the general morning crowd.

Ciao
